| Breast ptosis |
There are three
different cases of breast ptosis :
First case: the breasts are rather small or
have lost some of their volume after a pregnancy ; the treatment
is the same as breast hypotrophy. A prothesis has to be undertaken.
The scar length will be fiunction of the skin excess after
the volume augmentation (see prothesis)..
Second case : the ptosis is very large, and
so is the volume of the breast. Long scars are inevitable and
the patient will accept them easily because the shape improvement
is spectacular (see breast ptosis).
The third case is more difficult: the breast
volume is almost normal, but there is a slight ptosis . It
will be necessary to estimate whether the shape improvement
is interesting enough to justify the scars.
In case of doubt, don’t hesitate to postpone
the operation.
